We opened a Kiwanis Rough Risers Communication Network in our meeting today.
That's actually a fancy way to say that I set up a system for contacting members through text messaging (or email.) It is easy to join and you are only part of this network if you join. We will not be adding anyone who doesn't want to be part of the network.

This will not be a system that will pester you and your phone 24/7. At this point, it is designed to enable group leaders to send immediate communication to the membership (like if we cancel our meeting because of weather.)
Below are the directions for joining this group. The top ones are for text messaging and the bottom ones are if you want these text messages sent to your email instead.
Get text message notifications:
- Open your Text Message app (the app you use to text your family)
- Click the icon for Writing a message (on an iPhone it is a box with a pen in the upper right corner of the screen.)
- In the To: box (at the top of the screen), type 81010
- In the message box (towards the bottom of the screen), type @kiwanisro
- Send the message by clicking on the arrow or send button.
- You should receive a reply asking you to send your name. Enter your name and send it back.
- You should NOW be IN THE SYSTEM.
Get email notifications:
- Open your email program or app.
- In the To: box, type Kiwanisro@mail.remind.com
- Send your email (THAT’S IT! You don’t need a subject line or text in the message.)
- You will receive an email asking you to verify your request for a subscription. (Took mine 10 minutes - but this may vary.)
- Click the “Click this link” link. It will take you to a page where you will enter your Name and a password.
- Click the on-screen Button and it should sign you up.
Please contact me if you have any questions and remember . . . ask your teenaged grandkid to help you do this. You will be the coolest grandparent because you will be asking your grandkids for help on something they know how to do well.
Have a Wonderful Week.
Leigh
