Roger White Shares the Cedar Valley Nature Trail Consortium

May 30, 2018 - When our train rail lines were abandoned, one advocacy group of foresighted individuals partnered together to make these old railroad right of ways and convert them into nature trails for everybody to enjoy for perpetuity.  Now you can go for a walk or ride bikes on interurban 52 miles of trails between Cedar Falls to Cedar Rapids without dangerous automotive traffic impeding your enjoyment.

Roger White, representing the Cedar Valley Nature Trail Consortium, gave the Cedar Falls Kiwanis Rough Risers the story of the past, present, and future of this Rails-to-Trails massive project.  We have over 100 miles of trails in the Cedar Valley.  These trails have needed our help to maintain this discovery opportunity for future generations.  Bridges are needed to be replaced as well as trail upkeep and downed trees which brings financial stress on limited resources.  Kiwanis is a supporter of the Cedar Valley Nature Trail Consortium. The Kiwanis is always looking to help worthwhile causes in this regards.

Thanks for your work, Roger.
